Juno: New Origins - Officially Launched

Dev AndrewGarrison  1.8 years ago

We are thrilled to announce that Juno: New Origins has hit version 1.0 and has officially left Early Access on Steam! To celebrate, it has a 35% launch discount today. You can get it here. If you already have SimplePlanes on Steam, you can get it even cheaper by completing the Aerospace Engineer bundle.

After six years of development, the game has grown from a simple rocket simulator to a comprehensive aerospace sandbox, where players can bring to life anything they can imagine - from rockets, airplanes, and cars to entire planets. Here's the launch trailer:

This update includes the highly-anticipated Career Mode update, which is our largest update yet and has been in development for over one year. In Career Mode, players can now grow their own aerospace company by completing contracts to earn money and discover a mixture of hand-crafted and procedural contracts that offer countless hours of new gameplay. Conquer milestones and explore landmarks to earn tech points and unlock new technology in the tech tree. Interactive tutorials are available to show players how to build and operate rockets, cars, and airplanes.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our community for all of their support, suggestions, bug reports, and feedback throughout the Early Access period. Your contributions have been invaluable in shaping the game into what it is today!

We can't wait for you to experience all that Juno: New Origins has to offer! Thank you again for your support and we hope you enjoy the game!

    Dear @AndrewGarrison

Here's the idea for the next simpleplanes update:

    • optional underwater camera in game (no mods)

    • new update on USS Tiny (just like Beast' but ww2 feature)

    • new map (like town/ island)

Hopefully one of the above make it in the next update.

@Aviator01 you should add that KSP2 will only release with a simple career mode and the updated kerbol system, it will only rival JNO a few months later

i think there should be a better way to spawn ai craft. like you know When you enable air traffic the game spawns random aircraft. If it is possible I think there should be a in game option to disable certain aircraft from spawning.
    Would you agree?

@Yourlocalhuman Nah they should add F-18's (Wasps) That takeoff from the uss beast and attack the player

Fair. Should probably mention, in case I wasn't clear, my toy car to battleship comparison was referring to KSP 1, KSP 2 is looking like it will be a lot more stable from the get go (though it does suck that it won't be multiplatform. May have to invest in a PC...)
    good day!

@Stanmich Not to say that it won't get mods, but JNO is already modded, and is already understood. KSP2 is an unproven modding scape, while JNO is a modding utopia.

@Dragoranos The BASE scope of JNO is lesser than KSP2, but JNO is ripe for updating, modding, and improvement that I'm not so sure KSP2 is so good for.

@Graingy In fact, not so much. The scope of KSP2 is ludicrous bigger than that of JNO. Full interstellar travel, multiplayer and colonies won't exactly be possible in a game that's meant to be multiplatform.

This is not biased. It's 100% true

Jundroo, if you want to update SP in the future, i have one request, a simple request

    the big difference between both

Ingame editing tools, user interface and editing functions ; Juno: New Origins =>> 2023
Ingame editing tools, user interface and editing functions ; SimplePlanes =>> 2015

.. would be cool if there was a general overhaul in SimplePlanes 😎

wished for more ingame functionalities and editing functions - less "FunkyTree" workarounds 😜
