So Recently, i've been Disappointed with the Underwhelming amount of Air-to-Ground Targets. Like, shouldn't you not have to Kill a Little Bugger with a Guardian? i'm thinking of a Air-to-Air, Air-to-Ground Switch when you Spawn in a AI plane (or Ground Vehicle), so you can use not only Interceptors and Guardians to Destroy a Ground Target, but Cleavers, Rockets, Boom 50's and 25's, and Infernos! wouldn't that be fun?
There's another more developed version of this by Jim1the1Squid, tons of ideas there already, might be worth a mention there

in conjunction with IR, laser, FOX 1/2/3 missiles and other, they would 1: add more variety to the game, 2: add more realism, 3: open the possibility for improving the UI for the cockpits, eg. a warning radar on the craft would add a warning screen on the cockpit screen, an active radar can give radar altitude, tracking of multiple targets, radar screen in UI and ability to use radar/radiation weapons... etc...
the whole weapon/radar system should be revamped anyway with radar and EO parts for searching & tracking targets

You can XML Mod any missile to have it's preferred target switched, for instance, you can actually change a Cleaver's target type to Air-To-Air, making for some immensely powerful Anti-Air Missiles!
actually here's a simple suggestion for solving the issue with AI stuff for ground stuff
Add a option for the cockpit!
This could be as simple as choosing between Ground, Sea, and Air. Sea vehicles would avoid land, and hopefully air too. Ground vehicles would avoid the water.
