Battle Report
About this time, yesterday afternoon, shots were fired from the Deutschland’s railguns. The target was a heavily defended fortress, codename ‘Dark Bastion’, occupied by Chaos forces. The opening barrage was a great success, taking out a good portion of the air defenses, allowing for minor air support. After about two hours of shelling from both the Deutschland and the Salt Water destroyer, SWS Furious, a small force of Galactic Marines landed on the back side of the fortress. After confirming major damage to the fort’s ground defenses, we lost contact with the recon team.
The main ground force consisted of Salt Water troops with a few companies of Galactic Marines in smaller transports. Heavy fighting took place on the island as our brave troops pushed towards the mountain. Once they reached the half-way point between the beach and the mountain fort, the assault slowed down to a halt as a major counter attack pushed our forces back. A squad of Galactic Marines were separated from the main force, as Chaos troops surrounded them a squad of about five Salt Water troops broke through to save them.
After regrouping, it was decided that one more attempt could be made before a forced retreat would be made. A precision strike from Salt Water and Golden Military aircraft was made to weaken the Chaos forces. After another three hours of fighting, the fort was taken. The recon team is currently MIA.
Captain Essen of the GFS Deutschland has awarded the 5 man Salt Water squad that saved the Galactic Marines the Gold Star, the highest honor that could be given for exceptional bravery in the face of overwhelming odds.

@TheFantasticTyphoon
Will do. The sooner we find this ship, the better.
@CaptainEssen
Put to sea if you can. The SWS Willow will accompany you until you reach my Task Force.
and lined with the most advanced anti ship weaponry.
@TheFantasticTyphoon
@MTakach
Most of the repairs are done on the Deutschland, She could most certainly win a slugging match if needed. She is just as big if not a little bigger, being over a kilometer in length.
@MTakach
Yes, but not very modern weapons. We stripped it of military hardware before abandoning it.
@TheFantasticTyphoon it's probably lined with AAA
@MTakach
The Exterminator is one kilometre long, easily enough to contain 180 aircraft. We have to either capture it or sink it.
@TheFantasticTyphoon excuse my language, but Shiet.
@MTakach
A diving boat sixty miles from NovrdLisch is reporting that the original SWS Exterminator has been removed from its permanent dock in international waters. The Brotherhood must have stolen it after it was abandoned during the Warburg-Halcyon War.
@TheFantasticTyphoon what?!
@MTakach
My god!
@TheFantasticTyphoon maybe
@MTakach
The Brotherhood must have a carrier of some sort, there are no other islands in the area.
@MTakach
Ok, two torpedo boats are heading for the crash site.
@TheFantasticTyphoon huh, btw the bomber has crash-landed near one of the carriers, the floatation systems to keep the aircraft afloat have been deployed.
@MTakach
Normal aircraft. The others likely joined the attack once the modified aircraft had the crew's attention. Did the crew see any aircraft with massive jet plumes?
@TheFantasticTyphoon and, the other two?
@MTakach
Our Peregrines just shot down three F-5 Tiger II fighters. One seemed to possess the thermonuclear turbines.
@MTakach
I reckon they've captured one of our Drifter-C transports. They have thermonuclear turbines which can double the performance of most aircraft and one went missing during the ambush on the Deutschland. We always assumed it went to the sea bed when the Deutschland started listing.
@TheFantasticTyphoon whilst that is true, and the third, generation fighters are quite loud, it's odd how they were able to take a state-of-the-art bomber by surprise.
@MTakach
The BoC does have an air force. It's largely made up from a few third-generation fighters, which are easy prey for our fighters.
@TheFantasticTyphoon the bomber was intercepted by 5 unknown aircraft. that means that either there is a new enemy or the BoC has an airforce
@MTakach
What is happening with your bomber? Try to land alongside one of our carriers, we'll rescue the crew.
@TheFantasticTyphoon whut?
@MTakach
