The story of Svensus starts in 1939. The Nazis declared war on Sweden as well as Poland. The reason for declaring war on Sweden? As soon as the Nazis declared war on Poland Sweden stopped shipping Tungsten to Germany which was vital for the war effort. A few months after Poland fell, Sweden also fell and it's only aircraft manufacturer, Saab, was forced into the hands of the Nazis where it was used to manufacture aircraft like the 109. It wasn't until late 1944 that Sweden was liberated by the British and Americans but the Nazis destroyed everything as they retreated. Sweden was now a barren waste land. The king of Sweden who had retreated to London after the fall of Stockholm was reinstated as well as the parliament. Elections were held and a new government formed. Over the next decade the Swedish recovered but grew ever more worried about the threat posed by the Soviets. They needed to make their own aircraft which would've meant reforming Saab which had been defunct since WW2 ended. Instead, the government found a way of rebuilding Saab's old facilities and putting a new company in charge, Svensus AB. Since then they have dominated the military aviation market in Sweden and elsewhere thanks to the cost-effectiveness of their aircraft. Today they make innovative, low drag and highly manuverable aircraft for all markets with their planes being some of the most effective in the world.
