My Scout Eagle flew forwards... and backwards. At the same time.
(I fixed it now BTW, go take a look :) )
For some odd reason, the physics behind tail rotors on the PC version and the mobile version are different. On the PC version, the direction the blades tilt is based on the input you set them to, and you can invert it to make it go forwards or backwards. But on the mobile version, the direction the prop goes is solely based on how it is placed on the aircraft and how it’ connection points relate. So the plane may be flying forward on the PC version, but it’s flying backwards on the mobile version. It’ so Weird and it was bugging me for ages on my plane.
Another semi-related bug with tail rotors is they randomly switch direction when you’re building. Like, your just casually building your plane without touching the prop, and when you play, the prop is propelling in the opposite direction to when you last tested it. It’s so weird.
”But James, if these tail rotors have so many issues, why did you keep using them?”
Because they are epic and realistic
Tail rotors have prop torque simulation, P factor simulation, and their sound goes up like what a real engine sound does. I find the lack of these major disadvantage for the traditional props, which is why I kept persisting with using a tail rotor as my prop.
It would be cool if someone else would experiment with these, and also experiment with using helicopter blades as props too. They are a thing to be tested with right now.
