The Agamemnon has served us well, but the crew is getting a little tense. Of course everyone on the Deutschland have been in their position, but never to this extent. Most of us were veteran crew members from other ships that were transferred, I know the ship’s chief engineer served with Essen on their previous assignment. I was with the GFS Yamamoto’s Fighter wing and that was the best ten years of my career. I know some guys who were on ships attacked by pirates and had to make it back to port while relying on their suits for life support. I can tell you already, that gets really miserable really quickly, especially in the old model suits that made you look like you were apart of the Apollo 11 crew. Since we came here, I’ve been asked by the Agamemnon’s crew what the 65 scratches on my fighter’s right wing mean. Red marks stand for kills, orange is assisted kills, and green means how many times you’ve screwed up. All of my scratches are red except one, a green scratch separate from the rest, a reminder of how I lost my closest friend.

Thunder 1 “I’ve got nothing on scanners. Let’s make one more pass around New Terra and head home.”
Thunder 5 “Do you think we’ll ever find anything out here sir?”
Thunder 1 “I’m not sure. Perhaps we’re just wasting our time.”
Thunder 2 “Do you guys see that? By that asteroid.”
Thunder 3 “It looks like a flying saucer. Is that the lost?”
Thunder 1 “Whoever or whatever it is, it’s not doing anything. Let’s get a closer look.”

Officially we found nothing, it was just an asteroid. I’m not entirely sure who owned the ship, but it did have what we’ve been looking for, just enough solarium to jumpstart the Deutschland’s main reactor. If we can get space worthy again, we may just have a chance of getting home. Captain Essen has told us to stay quiet, he doesn’t want anyone else outside the Deutschland to know about it. We’ve separated the load on our fighters so we are less likely to be caught. We return planet side in an hour, ahead of the Agamemnon, and then we start our real work.
