Happy Birthday SCN!
The Saltwater Carrier Nation has celebrated its 11th anniversary in style. The people crowded the streets as the Marine Corps paraded past, following a column of Arctic Armour main battle tanks. A midnight fireworks display was also held, launched from six minesweepers anchored across the bay.
The Saltwater Air Force overflew the city, with three aircraft of each type passing overhead. They were joined by three Cz-12s from the Conegsreich Republic painted in Saltwater Air Force colours. This was followed by a fly-past from twenty-four Sweepstreak Osprey II strike fighters in diamond formation. On the seafront the official air display team, the Eagle-Riders, performed spectacularly in their navy-blue Peregrine fighters.
.
The Navy also took part, with the battlecruiser SWS Chieftain firing a broadside on the stroke of noon. The frigate SWS Harrier and battleship SWS Cavalier were open to the public, with groups of civilians being taken on guided tours. The Warburg Navy vessel USS NovrdLisch was christened in the harbour to the sound of a gun salute by the frigate SWS Buzzard, a symbol of the close relationship between the two countries.
.
Celebrations from Afar.
A joint party between the Saltwater Foreign Service Corps and the Galactic Marines was held on board the SWS Voyager, which had just arrived at Dark Bastion. The cavernous hanger was filled with balloons and lights, with fireworks being fired from the flight deck. The Saltwater troops introduced their counterparts to the unique Saltwatian drink known as "Bloody Murder", which resulted in a trip to the ship's medical unit for several soldiers. A more formal dinner for the senior officers was held in the officer's mess.
.
The end of the formal celebrations was marked by a traditional firing of "The Intruder", a 600 year-old cannon that was found on the island of NovrdLisch when the first Saltwater lighthouse was constructed at Forlorn Point. Events and demonstrations are planned for the next week, including a visit by the mega-carrier Deutschland.
Ok, I will notify the crew.
@Jim1the1Squid
They are flying in on board a Drifter-C supersonic transport.
Ok, I will greet them with the USS Blackstone (CA-1)
@MTakach
Actually last time I sent that one island's president to the emergency room.
@Jim1the1Squid
The SWS Defiant is one day from port and the flight to Warburg will take another 4-5 hours.
Ok, how long until the prisoner is shipped over?
@CaptainEssen lol (last time you did that you were kidnapped and the whole island of the CR had to be searched)
@Jim1the1Squid
It seems Essen doesn't want to interrogate him after all. The interrogation can continue as previously planned.
Yes.
@TheFantasticTyphoon
It was a joke referring to 'past incidents', I'll let you handle the prisoner.
@Jim1the1Squid
@CaptainEssen
Do you both want to send interrogators to NovrdLisch for a joint questioning? You both seem to want to interrogate him.
@TheFantasticTyphoon
@MTakach
@Jim1the1Squid
Essen raises his hand "I can make short work of this one!"
Good.
@Jim1the1Squid
@MTakach
He has not, I repeat NOT, got a pill. There is a gap in his mouth where it should be, but it had been removed earlier.
Well, can you confirm that he has not taken it? Does he even have one?
I need information here.
@Jim1the1Squid it depends, normally the cyanide pill is used right off the bat to prevent from interrogation. other times the Soldiers take them out for fear of their own lives.
@MTakach
We searched him for it. I believe their senior officers don't have the pill fitted to prevent accidental use and the loss of a commander.
Was that "tooth" taken out?
I don't want to have to interrogate a dead man.
@MTakach
@Jim1the1Squid the BoC has a form of loyalty called "Rapture" it is a cyanide pill disguised as a molar normally on the left back side of the mouth
@Jim1the1Squid
He is locked to a bunk, out of the reach of any weapons and has been stripped to his underwear.
Make sure he is restrained. I do not want him to escape.
Does he have anything that will prevent him from being questioned, IE a suicide pill?
@Jim1the1Squid
Ok, I'll fly him over Warburg once the SWS Defiant returns to port in a couple of days.
I've heard rumors that I am feared by the BoC.
I will. I have methods of interrogation.
@Jim1the1Squid
@MTakach
@CaptainEssen
Breaking News!
At 04:37 the Albacore-class attack submarines SWS Defiant torpedoed and sank a BoC cruiser 50 miles west of Krakabola. After searching the lifeboats the submarine discovered a sailor in the uniform of a very high-ranking officer. It is believed that he is a commander of the BoC naval forces. Does anyone want to take him in for questioning? He has so far been uncooperative to the interrogators on board the SWS Defiant.
