I really enjoy the islands that the devs have created for us. I think they look great and they have a lot of cool things about them. But I was thinking about the way that I can randomly generate terrain in various video games that I play. It would be cool to have the option of loading a sandbox of randomly generated terrain.
There would be some parameters of course, but I think that it would be a cool way to keep aspects of the game fresh and new. One idea I had is to make a minimum of two landing strips. You start at one and your goal can be to search the new landscape for the other strip and attempt a successful landing.
I don't know the technical aspects of how to make something like that work, but it would be a cool addition in my opinion. Perhaps the modders might he able to make something that functions?
Just a few thoughts for you guys. Be sure to leave your thoughts and opinions.
ok this was a long time ago but I think it's totally doable. the game Fly Dangerous has this already and it looks pretty good.
Its happining you guys predicted it @mrseed @humangrenade
Only problem it's easier to save a world full of BLOCKS without errors than to save complex angles as well generate them without errors, but neat idea
cool idea
How about map redactor? We can make maps and upload here. It will be very interesting!
Total image load size of the SR Release is something Devs have to be careful about. The current OS X release comes close to crashing my computer when I launch the newest SP version. Alternate: a user can build many New Locations using the stock SP Locations menu. I have multiple water starting points set up, and a couple new one on land, like the tip of the Volcano.
@TheLatentImage I have uploaded my simple plane logo can you try it, this is the link: https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/MHXZ3N/Simple-Plane-Logo
@RonaldChan you can make pretty much anything you want. Just don't copy other people's designs, and don't curse and be disrespectful to anyone.
So am I OK to create a 'simple plane' logo with new parts
@RonaldChan I don't know what that means.
@TheLatentImage you are a stuff?!
@RonaldChan I banned you because you copied other people's work and when I politely asked you not to do so you wanted to curse at me and tell me to shut up. That's not how it works around here. If you want to be cool you can stick around, but if you want to continue to act like that then I will make sure that your ban is permanent. Don't copy other users work, don't harass and curse at other users.
So who can ban me
? No i can't ban you I'm just a user lol @RonaldChan
@Cedy117 I have get banned, is that your work?
@TheLatentImage or maybe map down loads 🙌
Ah ok@TheLatentImage
@Challenger yes, but that's why I stated in a previous comment that it would be cool to have the option to choose between the current fixed islands or spawning in a randomized sandbox. That way you aren't losing anything.
I don't think I'd like it because I like having my pre saved locations like on the volcanos edge or on the bridge. With a randomised map you couldn't really save locations because what was open air on the last map might be the side of a mountain on another map
@GravityGun913 @Challenger If they do add a build a map, I would like a land tool, where you use your finger to drag terrain, a building tool, where you place preset structures, and a water mode to fill in lakes and things. It shouldn't be incredibly difficult and shouldn't create much lag due to the absence of custom textures.
I really just think it sounds like recipe for lag
It would be cool if you can custom make maps
True, I didn't think of that... Ummm..... I don't see why it wouldn't work. @TheLatentImage
Yea that's a good idea all but I play on mobile and I have a iPad 4 and I lag with some planes complex planes so that would be nice if it wasn't to laggy.but an idea would be for the devs to compress the game I think that would reduce lag but idk I'm 11years old but I do know that would open up some space to add the map idea ...but like I said I'm 11 idk a lot about developing games.but good idea.:)
@TheLatentImage Thanks :) Really hope this will be added in the future update. I sense lots of "Fly around this map in fastest time" challenges.
