The General has made his final decision. After a meeting with the GMA council they concluded that it would be too dangerous to keep the rift open. Strange energy signatures dictate that something is trying to break through the rift. Axis had pulled me aside earlier and gave me a run down of the plan. It’s too dangerous to risk coming out next to Earth so we will bolt to what would be Scarp core territory deep within IRC borders. Once we jump back to D001 we’ll make a dash to Galactic Alliance space where we can regroup and head back home. By doing this, whatever is keeping the rift open will come bother the Scarp’s territory instead of us. The General stated that he has plans to finish off the threat himself, how is beyond me though.

It’s been years since we’ve been in a massive fleet like this. We handed Dark Bastion over to the CR and returned the naval ships back to the SCN, we also discharged the forces from the alliance nations with the exception of a handful of volunteers who insisted that they come with us to D001 despite the fact that they may never return home. As it stands we will never be returning, Doctor Williams will see to that. It will be a few weeks before we make it to our destination but we should make it there without trouble. Even if there was the 1st Galactic Fleet could handle it.
There is a young recruit from the CR here, Conway I believe is what his name was, he’s a skilled pilot, perhaps he could lead a fighter wing after some proper training. He was very excited to be on the Deutschland when he first volunteered, he even came with us to D001 during our experiment. Why he would want to come with us now is beyond me, his flight captain tells me that Conway had a nice life in the CR, makes me wonder if there is something or rather someone that’s begging him to come with us. At least that’s the rumor right now.

We made it with only minor damage from the first few IRC ships. Opening a new rift did more structural damage to the Deutschland than what was predicted but she held together. Now the rest of the fleet can get through. From here we should be able to jump to the safety of Galactic Alliance territory.

On a serious note, I guess I'm "quitting" SPMRP. What I mean by this is that I will no longer be role playing however I will continue to assist @MTakach in running the RP and the Discord. I will continue The Rift as a separate storyline that follows the Deutschland and will make it more like what @FranzPeterSiegfried does with his Cold War and WW2 alternate history. I'll release chapters every Friday and allow people to make futuristic aircraft that may be featured in the story. I will set this up in next week's chapter.
