Das write bois

We got a plane

Transavia PL-12 Airtruk

Includes

  • New technique (I think) spray bar that uses rockets and detachers
  • Hopper empties as you spray (your plane gets lighter)
  • Doors open
  • My most detailed panel yet including several working steam gauges
  • Most realistic feeling and flying plane yet (helped by the fact that it isn’t a STOL plane lol)
  • That suspension actually works
  • 1447 parts but drag and collisions are side led so it should run very well for a plane of that high part count
  • Flaps that don’t keep going up when you go up passed the middle of VTOL (This plane isn’t STOL so I can do that lol)

Will probably be uploaded sometime next week, or two days, or something...

@jamesPLANESii Ik the tail has to be symmetric otherwise the nose would be pushed down but the wings don’t have to be

Yes probably but what do you think would happen if a tail was semi symmetric @Aarons123

@jamesPLANESii then wouldn’t that create drag having the wing tilted? Surely it would just be more effective to have a semi symmetric airfoil

Tails are symmetric yet they create lift to point you in the right direction when you’re not flying straight @Aarons123

No. The angle of attack makes a pressure difference. also @Aarons123

@jamesPLANESii no I meant the custom wings you made with fuselage pieces, I suppose I don’t know much about different airfoils. Also wouldn’t a completely symmetrical airfoil produce no lift as there is no pressure difference?

Unless you’re talking about the wing aesthetically. Tbh the real plane is almost like this except the leading edge the a little less sharp and it curves a little lower at the bottom of the leading edge. Doing them like this is good enough tbh @Aarons123

The plane flies far more accurately with symmetric wings than it does with semi symmetric wings. @Aarons123

Another thing the plane does irl is fly with a rather nose high position when fully loaded. You wouldn’t get this very much with semi symmetric wings. @Aarons123

IRL you can stall the plane, SimplePlanes semi symmetric wings stall at too high of an AOA and symmetric wings stall at the right AOA so even though the real plane has semi symmetric wings, the performance of the symmetric wings are far more realistic. @Aarons123

The airfoils of your wings are symmetric and therefor are not realistic, broke boi

I mean I say this but I can barely make an airfoil
