Hello
So far, from what i've seen, when people try to make car rims, they either do something like this where the rim just kinda doesnt move or just dont make rims.
The basic principle is this: the car engine and wheels can be used as a motor. You configure them around a ball and then connect them to a freespin rotator.
To make one, you need 4 wheels and one sphere. Set them all to size 1. Put the sphere friction and tire traction to their highest settings. Then put make sort of a cross shape with the sphere at the center so that the tires barely touch the sphere. Place the center of this assembly on a free spinning rotator. Finally, connect the wheels to a car engine.
And ur done! Just make sure that all your parts are set to disableAircraftCollisions= "true"
this concept is based on a post I saw like 2 years ago which used a very similar concept to generate thrust. If someone can find that post, Ill provide a link to it in this post.
Thanks for reading! Hope this helps! Sorry i cant use a better picture, this is the best i can do atm, i cant open the game right now for tech reasons and this is the best photo i had.
Edit: if you want to see it in action, I used it on a post I made a couple weeks back.

@Braynie0904 ye, glad i could help!
Commenting here so I can come back later to remember, will be using this :)
@BuiltBionixInd10 I got banned for 5 days
@Mattangi2 hOw LoNg WeRe YoU gOnE
@Chancey21 yeah, go to my War Rig, and 2 of the wheels use the concept.

Words words words...
Where is the demo? I need a proof of concept to back it up. Can we see it work please?
Ooooooh that's smart. I used vtol engines, pistons and hemispheres with high friction, which works but this probably works a lot better.
Nice collision engines are really useful, first one I’ve seen with a sphere though. @Mattangi2
@Mattangi2 ah yes I've seen this mechanism before, if you go back 2 years on my account there's a plane that uses this but it wasn't that good
That's quite an interesting mechanism for converting car engine power into usable powered rotation. Been conceptualizing a 'Diesel Electric' power system that involves switchable rotator and engine power for a bit of time. I might experiment with this kind of mechanism, see of I can make it work for a marine propeller!
@PositivePlanes seems pretty simple acually
@Othawne also its been pretty reliable in my experience, u just have to set all parts collisions to false.
@Othawne Ill take that part out
@Othawne shuddup im the FIIIRST
Has been done. it's always been somewhat unreliable.
