EDIT: i know 1.9 adds slider. i want to edit craft file to go beyond what slider allows.

Yea, 1.9 update painting tools with metallic and shiny(?) slider, remove mod support for android, added cannon, implementation of some mods into the actual game mechanics
Adjust metallic and the other option- the paint menu got updated
