First of all, first impressions are a thing right? Well in this case, custom thumbnails make your build more appealing and it catches the eye of those who are looking for an impressive build.
HOWEVER
PC users have the ability to add custom thumbnails to their creations through a mod that CarnationRed (no longer active) made a while ago. But! What about us mobile users? How come we don't get such an option like this? I feel like this is a massive disadvantage and is clearly not fair for us mobie users. PC users and their builds get more attention and apvotes because of their amazing custom thumbnails. And we mobile users have to use the DEFAULT designer.
Seriously though, This is not fair. PC users get the advantage over first impressions and catching eyes.
Either make this integrated into the game or do soemthing else like an alternate.
But please this is clearly not fair.
Quick little edit, I do not want to see any PC user post any comment like "Haha. Sucks to be you" or "Too bad."
Wait what? @Noname918181
Don’t make fun of this guy, he’s right, unless you have a solution @SnoWFLakE0s
Please mods change this, for some reason people love custom thumbnails and always upvote crafts with them, unless we have a top tier quality build, we get like 3 upvotes
Whats the command for dev console? @QingyuZhou
You can change screenshot's camera focal length though, once you activate dev console.
Edit: I meant orthographic view. On the other hand there can't be mods for iOS
No, it's done using DesignerSuite.
Also, have you truly looked for every option in order to achieve said action? One thing I detest is uninformed people who simply complain whilst not trying hard enough to resolve their issues. I'm fairly certain it's still possible- I've seen a mobile build with custom thumbs recently.
.
Also, submit a uservoice or something, not complain on the forums. This isn't the place to do that. Get directly to the devs, not the community. Please do consider that devs have been working hard to push out this recent update.
@belugasub yes
Wait was designer suite added to mobile?
@RamboJutter @Minecraftpoweer I tested it and sadly it did not work.
@Vidal99977 what minecraftsaid, and chill.
@AircraftoftheRedStar not much you can do if jundroo couldnt get it to work
OK everyone! I never knew that posting custom thumbnails on mobile was even possible. But now I see that it might be possible with the Blueprint feature in the integrated Designer suite.
Rip me because I play on an iPhone 6+ :P
@Minecraftpoweer
@Minecraftpoweer Yeah that is what I am going to test later on.
But mobile has designer suite...
@Vidal99977 you take a screenshot, you add text to it if you want. You use designer suite to use it as a "blueprint" you move it to the side so the build doesnt block it. Then you take the pics for uploading and zoom in on the blueprint so only that is visible. Tada custom thumbnail and can be done by everyone. And that's how the majority of players do it.
Wait! I just got an idea that might work.
I will have to test it though...
No there is not for me. Because older iOS phone can’t handle inserting a blueprint into the designer, it also eliminates custom thumbnails. @Vidal99977
@Minecraftpoweer I get your point but there isn't a way to put your custom thumbnails on your build is there?
Want some cheese?
Lemme tell you something.
1: pc users now use the designer suite mod for custom thumbnails, a mod that everyone who updates to 1.9 has.
2: there are tons of photo editing softwares available for free, both on pc and on mobile.
3: Designer doesnt matter, it doesnt have anything to do with the custom thumbnail unless you add some text like the name to the build, in that case it's better just to take a screenshot ingame for the custom thumbnail. Basically designer mods like that are not as useful as they once were because now you can basically use any picture of your build.
4: The upvotes arent really only because of thumbnails (except for the clickbait ones that are now against the rules) it's more about "marketing" you make teasers, you make people interested in your thing, why they should take the time to try it out etc. You want to convince someone to get it, and teasers are important for this. It's important to get upvotes in the beginning, the rest builds itself up, but if nothing happens at the start, nothing will happen later.
@AircraftoftheRedStar @CrashFighter05 Alright tell me. Which seems more appealing to you? This or This?
bro we all use designersuite, the god of mods. Though I do agree with this.
I am completely jealous of this fact. Although if you do the orthographic view, you will get a little for attention. Take my Ilyushin IL-58 for that fact.
