Tearing apart my old 2008 compaq f700

It's not very good by todays standards, so i am taking it apart. Any suggestions? (I saved my files to a usb)

    keep it, put linux on it, and one day when your main pc breaks down you'll be glad you have a backup to troubleshoot with

    @Plane66373637 oh my......... so it seems you 2 slots of ddr2 SODIMM ram @ 667mhz, with a max of 4 gigs supported. If you are in the US, i I would check ebay for extra ram That would make your laptop feel snappier.linky to search results

    Yeah and compaq was a low end brand name for hewlett packard so this has 1gb of ram@CrashFighter05

    I would also see if you can upgrade the RAM, since it is from 2008 it probably only has 2 gb of ram, 4 would be much better.

    There really isn't a lot you can get from tearing it apart, if you still use it and it has more place for another HDD or SSD if you need it.
