I'm making a plane right now that has a tendency to roll right at a pace that is really annoying to have to constantly correct. I'm sure the plane is completely Symmetrical. But the wings have a slight downward dihedral. If anyone has some info on why Before I upload the plane please help.
@DeezDucks aww man I got all excited and then it just made mine roll the other way hahaha. Still, glad you got it sorted!
@Skua It's fixed! So aparrently I looked at the surfboard pylon on the bottom and it was slightly crooked. After aligning that it still rolls but then I tried mirroring from the left side instead of right and it did the trick!
@DeezDucks ah, well if it's a replica I'm afraid I don't have a solution for you, sorry. If you do find something, let me know, I'd quite like to sort it on mine too. The only thing I can think of is that the landing gear may be clipping weirdly with something. Does it still do it with the gear lowered?
@Skua No I have a reversed rear gear(Mirroring it then deleting the right side and taking the left sides and rotating it twice) I can't change the anhedral cause it's a replica
A downward dihedral (or anhedral) will make a plane unstable in the roll axis, but I don't think that's your problem here, because it shouldn't make it roll the same way every time. I have a couple of planes that do this too, despite being 100% symmetrical, and even with a pretty strong dihedral. Does your plane use the wing landing gears? I think it's an issue with that which causes the roll effect when the landing gear is up; the effect goes away when the gear is down.
