Combat Update?

At the moment the current combat offerings are really weak. Why is radar attached to the cockpit? why do short range missiles go for the enemy cockpit when they should be heat seekers? why cant i evade a heat seeking missile by turning my engines off and climbing towards the sun? why do i get a warning from heat seekers when they are passive sensor missiles? why can i see every plane even behind me, is my radar really that good? why don't heat seekers hunt the hot counter measures? why does chaff "distract" radar missiles? why do Heat seekers need a constant lock from the cockpit? and there's so much more...

I understand that this game is more that a combat game and it isn't exactly a simulator but the missiles are super janky and just outright lazy. I know we're never going to get an update of this kind though. More letting off steam than making suggestions. and considering the last update was nothing more than using community mods the chances of any overhaul to the combat system is unlikely.

Even more:
Decals? - Apply an image like a sticker
vapor cone?
procedural landing gear? - you've done it in simple rockets
procedural engines? - again, simple rockets has it
Multiplayer? if people can make a multiplayer mod then i assume the "professionals" can
replacement for the god awful map? - it looks like it has just escaped one of the devs noses
Wingtip vortices? - like the vapor cone, cant be impossible can it now?
Glass? - I have a superb idea for the implementation for this but i guess it doesn't matter...
actual fuel tanks? - hitting a wind and having it set on fire then explode is just dumb. many planes also placed fuel elsewhere to devote more wing volume to structural support
camouflage? - like the decals, allow us to unwrap a UV mesh and use our own textures.

and my final note... can someone fix the scale issue PLEASE? using the stock planes you cant see them from more than 2km away and that's not correct at all. look at them on the runway, they're actually ants! Providing people with small examples makes them build small planes. and whenever an attempt is made to make a plane with accurate scale to say the runway all the stats bork out.

Would like to hear what others think needs doing. This isn't really a request cause tbh its just a side project to an indie game (SR2).

I dont mean to sound spoiled but there has to be more jundroo can do.

    @Jerba maybe. but small 10 slot servers could be run on peoples pc's easily. Would be nice if i could just host my own little server and invite a couple people every now and then.

    See I'd love an update to combat as well, at least just affecting how missiles track targets. I really wish that heat seekers would stop heat-seeking when engines are off.

    Large servers cost lots of money. The community isn’t just gonna put a bunch of money in so they can play together. I also think it’s run through steam or something and it’s not an official multiplayer server thing. @GhettoScouser

    @SnoWFLakE0s Really? It doesn't seem like it. There's so many little things that need fixing although i guess the devs are super busy. Thanks for pointing that out though.

    @Minecraftpoweer yes. but vectoring towards the sun or even hot reflective desert ground can often be enough to fool missiles. its far too complex for Simple planes was more of a thought. some of what i suggested was just me being facetious tbh

    @edensk Not at all rude.
    I assumed the chaff was just slow burning compound as looking at them doesn't show any of these splinters (often visible with refraction (sparkles) and i didnt think the devs would pay that much attention but then again that's a flaw in my testing i didn't realize that the chaff and flares had different uses in game other than to look different.
    I know of the MP but its kinda broken (i'm not mad it is a free community mod i'm actually really impressed)
    SR2 came out after SP and SP has been pushed aside (fair enough it isn't my company or my call its just annoying)
    Performance issues on lower end devices kinda. i mean decals in a limited number would work fine and its the users choice on how many they want to use.
    and the scale system is still dumb. building 1 to 1 scale only for a large bomber to disappear after 2km is kinda dumb. You make points though. hope i'm not sounding rude in response lol

    What I think:
    FYI, what chaff countermeasures do irl is actually distract radar guided missiles, since they're clouds of metal shrapnels that reflect radar signals.
    So it's not unrealistic that they "distract" radar guided missiles.
    .
    It would be cool to have a bit more realism and/or customization options, but I think this game is mainly meant for fun, not full realism.

    Uhhhh, did you know that SR2 came way later than SP?

    Regarding some of the suggestions:
    - Multiplayer...
    Only computers can run it fine, and there's already a mod that every computer user can download, but it would be nice if it was implemented ingame and improved.
    - Procedural stuff:
    If you want it so much just play SR2 or make it yourself, lol.
    - Decals, camos, effects... :
    Stuff that would be nice to see but would reduce the game's performance on less powerful devices.
    - Scale issue:
    1 IRL metre equals 2 Fuselage block units, just use that to make vehicles to a correct scale.
    And why would you even use stock planes, tbh, lol.

    @Noname918181 Yeah nothing like DCS where you have to use cockpit interfaces to select targets. more like war thunder in comparison to DCS. Simple yet accurate.

    Note 1: for the fuel tanks i dont mean those boxes. i mean tanks that can be resized like the wings. i know the fuselages can be used and if were expected to do so give us more options surrounding the fuel. Self sealing? because at this point if you want fuel in the wings then the WHOLE wing is used. its apparent from the fact you can hit an enemy aileron it it'll start spewing fuel. how? Also can we please choose what fuel is drained first so that external tanks work better?
