Is it happening to all of your planes or just a few specific ones? Normally this only happens if the engine is getting either no fuel or no air. Note that detachers don't allow fuel or air transfer, so if your fuel/intakes are on the body and the engine is on a detacher, it won't work. Same goes for the other way around.

Happens to me a few times. But only when my plane breaks apart. I tried throttling up but nothing happened even though the engines are still working.
