Max pressure on pistons/rotators?

114 AwesomeCronk  4.8 years ago

I’m making custom float gear for a plane that weightless 20,000lbs. It works flawlessly if the plane is propped up on a test stand. The rotors and pistons all work fine. However, when I put it in the water, the gear gets so much weight that the rotors and pistons stretch and bend at the joints. The rotors and pylons bend at the joints, too. How do I stop this bending?

    .
Use sinusoids instead of the default movement method, they work a lot better.

Their load is the whole plane!!! 😂

@AwesomeCronk your other option is to increase the mass scale of the rotators and pistons while reducing the mass scale of the load they have to move

Yeah, that wasn’t enough. Is it possible to insert that in the xml of the rotators as well?

Pistons: find something called preventBreaking and set that to true

    Don't use pistons. They're broken.
