Gyroscope effect?

114 AwesomeCronk  4.7 years ago

So, I recently built a plane I call the whirligig. It consists of a very basic fuselage, with two big props in the middle, counter-rotating. This was made for the heck of it, but I couldn’t help but notice that I could not identify any sort of gyroscope effect. The plane flew almost the same if they were spinning vs if they weren’t.

So I ask the community, and possible the devs, does SP implement the gyroscope effect on spinning things?

Here is the whirligig: https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/3JEk83/Whirligig

well, I think normal aircraft don't have to fight it, given the difference in mass between the aircraft and the prop.

SP doesn't apply for propellers but that does apply for rotator/electric engine, i really wish that does apply though, It'l makes your plane harder to fly because you need to fight the neutral rotational force of the plane engine
