I am making a 4-8-8-4 articulated steam train similar to the up 4014 big boy, but i am running into issues with the large drive wheels having hitboxes bigger than the wheel model, and I was wondering if there was any way to fix this? Any advice would be very helpful and much appreciated.
I have worked out a solution by scaling the wheels up in length and height, but leaving the width alone.
@RailfanEthan I was trying to even see if what im attempting is possible on the actual rails, so I have no legitimate progress, but I will keep looking for a solution, and if I cant find one i might just have to bite the bullet here and make the wheelbase skinny or the wheels wider
@JakeSnakeMate i tried making fuselage block wheels awhile ago for a gyro powered train, but the wheels tend to hop off the rails. Nudge the car wheels closer to the center of the train. I can try to make it work for the railway map if you're having problems, tag me on a unlisted post and i'll get to it tomorrow if need be
@RailfanEthan I am aware of that, but the car wheels have a wider hitbox than the actual model shows,so i have to put them really far in if i want thin wheels, and i cant find a way to fix it, I am also wondering if making custom wheels out of several pieces of fuselage would work, or if it would just be sticky and not move
if you're using circular fuselage blocks for the wheels, they still have square hitboxes. The way I've been getting around this is just using car wheels.
@asteroidbook345 I know, i was just wondering if there was someway to fix this issue
