I have a 9 year old who wants to play this game. I've looked up some videos of it and can't https://trackeasy.fun/usps/ see anything that would mean he can't play it, but maybe I'm not understanding how the game works. Is there any chance of him encountering anything that isn't age appropriate? We also don't want him chatting with strangers online, and a family member said they thought there was chatting with the game. Can anyone clarify this? Thanks a bunch!!
SimplePlanes is a kid friendly game. There's no graphic imagery or other questionable content in the vanilla game.
.
It's also not really a multiplayer game (although a multiplayer mod can be downloaded and used). However, the main multiplayer servers are unmoderated (it's a third mod without moderation controls) so you may come across some NSFW language on there (via text only as voice chat is not available), but from personal experience, the multiplier server is kid friendly most of the time. Again, this is only applicable if you download the third party game mod. Vanilla SimplePlanes does not come with multiplayer gameplay.
.
There are weapons in the game and you can blow up various vehicles and shoot down AI aircraft. But again there's no blood guts or anything like that involved, just plane parts exploding, etc.
.
However, he would not be allowed an account on the site until he's of 13 years of age or supervised by someone such as yourself that owns the account. The community here is moderated and we do try to keep everything child friendly here. I highly suggest reading the rules section of the site to give you an idea on what kind of content is found on here. It should also give you a general idea of the type of person the game is aimed at.
.
I personally recommend getting this game for him. It's a fun way of letting one expressing their creativity while learning a bit of science in the process.
@HafidzAir you shouldn't give information
Yes mam their is
i'm 9 years old, and i have played this game for 3 years.
im 8 year olds
Ye just don’t let him use multiplayer and supervise his SP account and put the device in a public place.
The game itself is harmless and has nothing which could be interpreted as inappropriate for a 9 year old. There is no communication with other players through the game itself but that is possible on the website. The moderators are very good at making sure that any inappropriate content stays off the website as well so as long as your child doesn’t make an account, it should all be age appropriate :)
Very kid friendly, I’d say he’d learn a thing or two about airplanes
Very kid friendly! It is only building and flying your planes
@jamesPLANESii i'm old. Lol
@bjac0
The only problem is that the only parts that produce lift are wings.
The community is great though and its always great to welcome a new one here... But unfortunately for your son, he must be at least 13 to be a with us... And if you end up with a problem, contact any one of our great mods! They will help you with almost anything and will remove unwanted content in a Jiffy!
Site and game, very much.
Discord? Umm. Not really lol
You have to be at least 13, not 15 @Sinacraft
A ok amount
Simpleplanes is incredibly child-friendly and can help foster an understanding and curiosity for planes and not just how they work but why, only way to communicate is to make an account on the site or to go on multiplayer (but you need modifications for the game and some technical know-how to access multiplayer), even then both are usually pretty clean and friendly, if you plan on making an account for your kid i'd say to keep an eye on it but i'm sure you already know to do that.
In summary simpleplanes is an excellent game for children with developing minds, and was definitely one of the best games of my childhood.
The game itself is perfectly okay for a 9 year old, but it can get pretty frustrating though. Just don't let him/her make an account and/or download the Multiplayer mod (which is available only for PC/Mac).
At the first...how old are you?
Second, i eat the under 15 (don't be serious, jk)
Third, this game is very friendly (semi)
@jamesPLANESii
I wonder how many people have broken that rule...
The game itself is perfectly child-friendly, and 99.9% of downloadable content from this website is also fine. Just don't allow them to have an account here, as there are age restrictions, and don't allow them to download the multiplayer mod, as that is unfiltered and users can and do say whatever they want to.
Excellent game for learning basic aerodynamics and just messing around with aircraft, the chatting online experience is for asking questions like yours and getting help and feedback from other people who want to help you. The game is 100% kid friendly, and the site should be too, but you have to be 13 years old to use the website.
Hope this helps
Besides from online content, this game is perfectly safe for a kid. Just don’t have them use the multiplayer mod, and you will be fine. As for downloading planes, it is 99% clean, though inevitably someone comes along to post something rude every once in a while (this is rare though).
.
TL:DR, The stock game (as purchased) is perfectly age appropriate. The site is 99% clean.
Just don't let him have the multiplayer mod and don't have a forum account (I think the forum rule requires you to be 13 or 15 to have an account, so your 9 yo child can't have one anyway)
Aside from that... yeah you should be fine.
Due to drama going on, users now belive that if the user liked ksp than sp they're considered a traitor probably due to trolling.
Simple Plane is a sandbox game where you can create anything that pop on your mind, Using your creativity to create something. And just like JamesPLANESii says your son need to be 13+ years old to make an account in here, But you can still download anything even if you are not logged in.
