OK fellas, it's me, with my new plane.
This is the Focke-Wulf Fw fighter w/ BMW 803, IRL only exists on blueprints. (The engine itself has a sole example left in a German museum.)
Unfamiliar markings? Yes, this would be my first parallel world aircraft.
These aircrafts will be real (prototype/blueprint included) aircrafts with original livery. They will be tagged as "ISK".
This aircraft belongs to the first nation to build aircrafts, The Union.
The Union occupies Wright Isle in the Sandbox Island Chain. They are in peaceful competition with The Kingdom, and in military standoff against The Empire.
The flag and fin flash of The Union
The roundel of the Union Air Force. Unlike The Kingdom with a historical blimp fleet, the Union Air Force started as a military branch solely made of heavier-than-air aircrafts.
The loadout of the Fighter w/ BMW 803. It has 24x R4M rockets, 2x MK103 autocannons (50 RPG) and 2x MG151/20 autocannons (250 RPG).
After the other works, the plane is now more stable, and as a side effect, pedal turn is now very difficult.
But it is still capable of Pugachev's Cobra.
Background:
Why do I start a parallel world series?
To solve the significant differences between SP world and real world, basically.
Some differences in this world include:
- Less drag and more lift
- No oxygen issue at higher altitude, probably due to the purity of oxygen being somehow higher in high altitude atmosphere, negating the thinner air.
- Significantly better structural strength and pilot strength. Airframes do not disintegrate due to over-G or overspeed, and any civilian pilot can easily take up 10+ Gs while fighter pilots can take 50+ Gs.
- Significantly worse fuel efficiency. Piston engines take liters of fuel PER SECOND.
and so on.
So the background would be set at Sandbox Island Chain, including Snowstone, Krakabloa, Wright Isle, Skypark City and Maywar.
Krakabloa is where Earth technology entered this world, and is neutral territory.
Snowstone is a heavily militarized island taken by The Empire.
Wright Isle is where Wright Flyer's blueprint was found (hence the name) and is now taken by The Union.
Maywar is a cultural-rich island taken by The Kingdom.
Skypark City is a neutral man-made island for the nations to hold air shows.
There will be a full story post (in order to be linked by each aircraft) when this is uploaded. It should happen within a week or so.
@asteroidbook345 Plus, Shinden is air cooled, BMW 803 is liquid cooled.
Which means Shinden's MK9D will require better air flow than 803.
@asteroidbook345 Yeah it did exist.
For once I doubted about its intake efficiency, but then I thought about Shinden... (Japanese pusher fighter with also small intake)
@asteroidbook345 both are not official.
what you see are models people made from other kits.
The nose intake is similar to the P.0310, and it has a different name (something like "version II" or stuff). It is practically another craft.
the boom intake version uses Me 262 wing set for the part beyond the booms, and is actually far more heavily armed (I count 8 barrels, and it has X-4 missiles) than my data, it all makes it feel far more like fiction.
This is the version I'm making. It is the version that Luft '46 actually has a blueprint-ish picture on.
Were it not for that I'd probably make the boom intake version. Far better firepower and easier shape.
