So, I made a bet with PointlessWhyShouldI saying I could write a 500 word essay about why hovering vehicles are better than cars. He said that if I did, he would ban himself for a week. And if I didn’t, I would be banned for a week. So here is the essay!
Here is why hovering tanks are a better alternative to race cars. So, I recently utilized a hovering mechanism to create speeders, hovering cars, and hovering tanks. Once I did this, I wanted to revolutionize it. So, I tested my hovering tank, the HT-95 Levkov, out for a spin on the Oval Office map. Once I did this, I came to the conclusion that hovering vehicles are better than cars. Here are my reasons:
1: STABILITY: Hovering vehicles can be much faster, and more stable than wheeled cars. This is because the vehicle simply goes right over any bumps on the road.
2: SPEED: Wheeled vehicles have a variety of factors that limit its maximum speed, such as: drag, wheel resistance, and fuel. Wheel resistance is a large factor in this. Hovering vehicles completely eliminate wheel resistance, as they hover, unaffected by anything on the ground.
3: NOISE LEVEL: Vehicles that have wheels are just too loud. If you are driving on a runway, there is a constant screeching sound. While hovering vehicles have the humming of the engines, it is much more pleasant than the screeching of tires.
4: MANUVERABILITY: Once I created my hovering tank, I found that it was much more manuverable than normal tanks. This is because it has the ability to strafe, and move even when it isn’t facing that particular direction.
I believe that hovering vehicles are the future of SimplePlanes. I plan to revolutionize it, and make wheels obsolete. But, there are also downsides to hovering vehicles:
1:PRICE: Although there is no such such thing as budget or finances in SimplePlanes, hovering vehicles can still be very expensive in real life. But, I hope these prices could go down to be affordable one day.
2: FUNKY TREES: Funky Trees are XML codes rhst use long inputs to make things behave a certain way. Although I can’t give out the hovering engine code right now, I can tell you that it is quite a long one.
While there are many downsides to hovering vehicles, I can assure you that the benefits far outweigh the downsides. And now we will go onto wheeled vehicles:
Wheeled vehicles are impractical, I’ve proven that already. But, they do have some benefits:
1: BETTER COST: As I said, hovering vehicles could be very expensive in real life. Wheels are more affordable, and much more widely used. But, I plan to change all this.
2: HIGHER AVALABLITY: Yes, it’s not everyday that you see a hovering tank on the road, which is why wheels are what we see in cars. But when normal cars were first made, it wasn’t exactly something you saw every day either. This is one of the reasons hovering vehicles will change the world.
In conclusion: I believe that hovering engines will change the world one day, as we all have to start somewhere. Elon Musk wasn’t always rich, Thomas Edison wasn’t always famous, and Harrison Ford had a first movie. So, PointlessWhyShouldI, if your reading this: IN YOUR FACE!!!
Just you wait until I release my hovering tank! @DeezDucks
Hovering vehicles would still be affected by land mines, as the engine exhaust would force the land mines downward. @BuiltBionixInd10
@MrPorg137 lolmao
@Brendorkus You live dangerously....
@Noname918181 ....
Hovering vehicles use much more power to stay in the air, and since you don't have wheels you don't have friction and therefor much less control. Have fun drifting everywhere and wrapping yourself around a tree.
do you know how loud hovercrafts are
While though hovertanks and other hover vehicles have many disadvantages
.
Every hover vehicle, are most likely immune to land mines
Which is an advantage i see @jamesPLANESii
@MrPorg137 let's have a bet
This is the reason I make bets with people... @MrPorg137
And that is why I don't make bets with people.
Me too @Ultra0
@Ultra0
Tag me on it!
@Brendorkus
A walker i’m planning on making soon will go 90km/h
The fastest I’ve ever gotten a mech was about 9mph... @Ultra0
Hovering vehicles are better but walkers/mechs are best
@jamesPLANESii yeah... About that..
One of my father's trucks in the past got 3mpg, very efficient
@jamesPLANESii
True.
It’d be the efficiency of most American cars, plus the lack of efficiency of making them hover. @ArcturusAerospace
Wheeled vehicles are extremely stable. All the time. I mean, the only time they tip over is when you do something completely retarded, crash, or you’re a truck. Hover vehicles need to stay upright somehow, some sort of system. This makes them less stable.
One thing I might add to that is the amount of wind and stuff that will come out of it to keep it hovering. It’d blow away small dogs... BTW think about helicopters.
Price: Yes. I would also add that hover vehicles are millions of times more expensive to run...
Yeah there’s actually a very good reason why hover vehicles don’t exist and flying cars are extremely rare and expensive...
@jamesPLANESii
About as efficient as most American cars.
Also, imagine cornering and driving in the wind. There’s nothing physically keeping you on the road so you’ll probably have to lean into corners. Like, normal cornering you’d have to lean like 30 degrees. Also, you’d drift all over the place on the road when it’s windy. Driving these would be extremely difficult, maybe impossible.
Wow. Imagine the fuel prices for the jets that keep the car levitated. Fuel prices would be insane. Fuel efficiency would be like 10 metres to the gallon.
What is your hover system?
Nice!
