Bruntingthorpe Airfield in the UK is home to many incredible aircraft such as English Electric Lightning’s, De Havilland Comets, a Super Guppy, and many many more. They were displayed at the airfield and even taken for taxi runs while under the care of many aviation enthusiast groups who put countless hours of work into them. However, the airfield now has a new owner and has given an eviction notice for all of these groups and their aircraft. Please Click Here to sign a petition to try and help keep these amazing aircraft where they are and open to the public.
Thank you all!

@Mustang51
Me too!
@KnightOfRen thanks man! I hope it helps
I signed.
@MSGamezYXZ360 it’s awful that the new owners would want to forcibly remove such lovely history and something that makes that airport great
Nooooo I’m also in UK this cannot happen!
@LucasNicky sadly it seems like planes are moving out of there. Some have been traveling to other museums and airfields across the UK but not all the aircraft placed there are able to be moved. It’s not looking good

any news yet?
Not too long ago a WWII Douglas DC-3 later converted to a civilian transport that had been on display for decades was cut up into little pieces over here in Brazil due to similar bureaucratic/private entity stuff. The largest aviation museum is South America is also closed and has been in a state of limbo for years, and the fate these aircraft will have is anyone's guess. I volunteered there for a while before Covid kicked in, cleaning these birds up. One of the most satisfying things I've ever done.
Bureaucrats and pen-holders have no idea of the historical value these birds have, so I definitely appreciate the effort to get the message out there. If left uncontested they'd chop everything and turn them into aluminum cans.
@rexzion my thoughts exactly. Can’t wait to see airshows again after all restrictions are lifted
I would hate to see any majestic warbirds go, we just had a airshow not long ago with beautiful aircraft. I mean it makes me think, who in their right mind would think to scrap these things??!
@rexzion I haven’t heard any news on it yet. If I find out, I will make a followup post and tag you
are they saved yet
Aw hell no, I'm signing up for this. I've never been to this place as far as my knowledge goes, but I am not about to see these aircraft go to the scrap heap.
Cox Automotive have got their hands on something which in my opinion is almost useless to them considering the fact that they ship cars around the world, not aircraft. They want money like all businesses do, and it's gotta stop. I hope this petition gets their grubby fingers off these amazing machines.
WE NEED THEM FOR HISTORY AIR SHOWS
Grrrrrrr
anger
@qwerty132 totally agree. It’s a terrible look for them
Can we take a moment to say f you to this company. They’re disrespecting these pieces of history. People put 100s of hours of work into those planes to restore them and keep them partially working. F you Cox Automotive
@jelybaca i mean with that you can also say that all museums are pointless because paintings and fossils don’t do anything but just sit there hahaha. Part of the airfield is pretty much a museum but I’m glad you see my point!
@Mustang51 Well they sit and do nothing, with the occasional flight with the sole purpose to unstiff whatever is stiff, but now you say that, I kinda see your point.
@jelybaca why are they useless? They are pieces of history that deserve to be remembered. Not many of them fly but they are wonderful for people to look at and be inspired by
