I'm nearing the end of my B-24 build and the last big obstacle is the cockpit. I could make a fully functioning one with gauges, dials, controls and the like, or I could encase it with windows. If I were to go for the full cockpit, it would take a rather long time - my best guess is around two weeks, as I've left it a bit late to start. If I go with the windows, the plane will be finished in, at the most, two weeks once I fine-tune the flaps, landing gear, and turrets.
I have seen a ton of really successful builds that have no functioning cockpit, only a block. My concern is that if I opt for the cockpit, it will fall flat on its face and take away from the final product.
What would you suggest?
If you make the full cockpit and also do all the other stuff you would if you didn't make it, then good. You don't have a deadline, take your time and make it as good as you can (or want)
