I’m a huge fan of both the PBY Catalina, and the F4F Wildcat. The Catalina because I love seaplanes, and the Cat is just so cool, and I like the Wildcat for it’s time in early ww2. Probs my favorite fighter plane ever.

If anyone likes eastern front north africa campain and pacific ones. be my guest!
Each, I get a lot of the same feelings from ww2 planes. I think it was kinda the best time period for looks. Something about the bare and raw look of it. @AzureSamurai
My favorite is A6M Zero — all modifications, but especially 21 (A6M2 21). But truly I’m fan of all Japanese WW2 planes, because they were very aesthetic, agile, and many of them were the best for their time period.
Some of them I’ve already built
D3A
A6M2
Ki-10
Also great aircraft, and yeah, the mosquito was a strange, but really cool plane @HorizonWZL
Mosquito was made by wood.So unbelivable.
How does it defend against the gun.
@Elicushman oh,I just forgeted
Bf-110
Ju-87
B-25
@Elicushman Welcome.
@Elicushman thanks.
The Wirraway is an interesting, but really nice choice! Glad to see some somewhat obscure planes getting some love! And the Beaufighter is always a classic. Nice! @avgeek101
Yeah, the 262 is a great choice for sure, and I didn’t know that about the Mosquito! Thanks for sharing! @Kreep2knight
Nice! All wonderful aircraft. Of the lost, I thing the mosquito is my favorite, but all of your other choices are nice planes too @Grob0s0VBRa
Yeah, planes that just get the job done are fun to me. Great choices @Ruvien0Republic0Citizen
I’m glad! The F4F tends to go somewhat unrecognized, but it’s so historically significant. And the Catalina is just a neat plane by all means. @WingsOfSteel
Both great choices. If I had to expand my list those would be probably just below the 2 I picked. @HorizonWZL
@Defalt1 Hehehe.
@Kreep2knight Its counted as a plane from WW2 so yeah i love the shape of it and the purpose of it
CAC Wirraway and bristol beaufighter
@Defalt1 Isn't that Jet propelled suicide?
Messerschmitt ME-262. Four 30mm cannons will blow up anything you can hit, including Sherman tanks, trucks, and B-17s. It was also fast enough to outrun most allied fighters that weren't in a dive.
JV-44 was a 262 squadron that was full of aces. Franz Stigler, Gerd Barkhorn, The Count, Steinhoff, and Adolf Galland.
But the Mosquito is also pretty good, it could fly so high that German interceptors would stall out trying to get at it, which was why they were used to trip air raid sirens to deny sleep to the Germans. It was equiped with up to four .303 browings, and four 20 mm cannons. There was also a pilot who purposely switched of his identification signal to get friendlies to chase him, but they couldn't catch him because he was way too fast. He finally told them to call the dogs off.
@Elicushman yeah i know: its basically a flying donut
Ta-152
J2M
CR.42
La-7
MiG-3
Mosquito FB Mk XVIII
P-39 Q-5
Maneuverable and a chance to one shot the the enemy.
P-47 D-25
Just shoot the wings off a bomber.
@Elicushman yes I fully agree
@Elicushman SBD and F4U
Yeah, that’s a neat plane. I fully agree @Sgtk
