So I want go know if it's even possible to hold a position and go around in a circle with like a gyro or something. I just wanna make it actually work as a real gunship would. Also is there a way to make like roll for example once you have it turned at a specific point it keeps the turn. ( like of you have a hinge rotator and you put a roll input and it acts like a throttle input and doesn't move back I really hope I explained that well) just some stuff so I can make a gunship and the last one because of a project i wanted to make but forgot what it was.
@Sol1isSunny I will definitely try that thanks! I was thinking that might be a good option but didn't know if I had to do other things to make it work. Thanks. :D
also, set both "min" and "max" properties of both yaw power and pitch angle to 0. not really FT formula but hey, works pretty well ngl
get a gyro, use the built-in overload mod, set a desired ag for gyro, set the stability and speed between 10-75, set both the "min" and "max" property of the roll gyro to -1, and set desired roll angle in the built-in designer options (not the overload options). recommended roll angle is between 20-50° depending on plane size and weight. if the guns on your gunship are mounted starboard (aka to the right of cockpit), use positive 1 for "min" and "max" properties
mhm, idk anything about FT
@GuyFolk Yeah, but well within the limits of what we can now accomplish. Is the OP willing to spend the time learning, scripting, testing and fixing? We'll see.
@F104Deathtrap
True lol. That's some next level stuff.
Most conventional plane will turn in circle if you bank them, but to fly a beautiful circle you need a little rudder input for side-slip correction and elevator input to keep the nose level, that's all I know. The rest is trial and error :P
Yes, everything you mention is possible. Some of it is actually pretty easy. But circling a target would take some advanced xml scripting that would involve the new Beta patch 1.10
@Kernels
This might be what you are looking for, it have "turret mode" which will hold the plane in level flight while you using a turret, but I don't know how to make it fly in circle, I'm sure it can be done but more experience is needed.
This is Not FT but Why not use trim? Roll plane(
ailerons
) till almost vertical and use trim(elevator
with trim enabled) to pitch up usingtrim so it can hold the input
so the planes goes in a circleThu FT solution is may be interesting ..possibly may include using the combination of locking rudder(yaw)and aileron(roll) to turn plane in a circle all in one Activationgroup
@47parzival41 I think you guys might be able to help me. I would like this to be a thing but I dont know
