I have noticed lately builders getting lots of flack for getting upvotes on builds many consider to be of lower quality, or individual builds getting mass reported just because they went "viral" despite being cheap meme builds.
You should understand that a builder doesn't decide how many upvotes his post will get. People like what people like.
Furthermore, this is a game community. We come here to enjoy the content, not to be annoyed by unnecessary drama.
Help the builds that you consider well-made to gain points by upvoting and spotlighting them, maybe by sharing them on Discord. Don't try to humiliate builders whose work you dislike.
Another issue I have noticed is that peoole tend to get annoyed when someone doesn't accept their feedback and suggestions. Magic of SimplePlanes is that everyone can play it the way they like, don't force your preferences onto others. Some of the builders I like have stopped building due to the pressure from the community, while many have entered arguments over that. Build your build, provide feedback to others, but don't be mad when your feedback is not integrated into the build.
Wait... people are getting butthurt that other people’s builds are getting lots of upvotes? LMAO!
@EternalDarkness
i could not agree with you more on this.
I have not seen this on sr
@Mattangi2
I dont think so.
True, although meme builds are ridiculous, true
@ImaCat no we need too
German Corsair isnt first anymore we need to get it to at least 300 upvotes
@EternalDarkness Guilty as charged :)
@BogdanX Definitely. My bushplane that I made was, build-wise, quite mediocre (I am proud of my math behind the engine though). Somehow it got a ton of attention because of the background.
.
I do wish that people would make their aircraft the primary subject of their thumbnails. In other words, do not edit the plane (brightness/contrast is ok to tweak a little), and to not put in a bunch of extra graphical nonsense. I’d like to believe that my (and your) thumbnails are used to showcase the plane, and little more.
@spefyjerbf @BogdanX you talk like two whiny old-timers XD
@BogdanX I’ve had that opinion for a long time too. I am guilty of using custom thumbnails though - I simply get a drastically lower amount of reception when I do not use a custom thumbnail.
@Spacedoge12345plane I remember those times. Makes me wonder what could have caused such a shift.
I remember SP 3 years ago. Nobody fought and people got what they got and they didn’t throw a fit. SP is no different then the rest of the Internet where talent, being different, dedication and a whole lot of luck= viral. SP is the most wholesome, inclusive, positive, community on the Internet. I’ve been inactive for about 6 months now and I show up and this is what I have to see.
I don't appreciate the recent lack of screening on the site especially when it comes to language and other stuff that has been posted here. @EternalDarkness
I'm cool with meme builds, but not when there are blatantly inappropriate. If you want to keep it a site where everyone is welcome and is comfortable keep it clean. @EternalDarkness
@Beefy noooo why :c
@P0TET0Z i destroyed it :^)
Lmao upvote 69
I will proceed to make some meme into simpleplanes because that's what i am good at
welcome to h̶e̶l̶l̶ dramaland
@KnightOfRen its not you having fun that appears to have caused the angst. I'm assuming that as you are still trying to drag this out that you are relatively young or inexperienced with this stuff. Some further basic advice that may help you; Don't bite to every criticism (some will be relevant, dome will be very childish), don't multi tag loads of people, don't spam the forum, build and post whatever you want (none of the above should affect you "having fun").
The website is going through a pubescent/mid-life crisis at this point in time.
@EternalDarkness ough, and massacre the account
Sounds bloodly. (JK)
I hope pet the Andrew has more upvotes than this
@KnightOfRen well you can always make one, besides it’s free and allows you to have a place to upload images of your plane to use in your descriptions
