"Captain! USS Midway is in sight sir! We have made it to or task force!"
"Very good private jell! Radio the admiral that we have joined our task force."
It's been 13 hours but they finally made it to their task force, which well be responsible for operation head hunt. The mission will last upto 6 months as they go from California, to Pearl Harbor and up to their eventual home near Seipan. The waves were rough this morning with the storm about to reke havoc on the California coast. Captain Wenger was worried about his wife. He wasn't going to see her for upto a year, and she was pregnant with their first child. He can remember when they first met, at the dock after his first voyage. He can still remember her flowing blonde hair, and he beautiful blue eyes. He knew he was going to be with her for the rest of his life.
When they finally arrived in Pearl Harbor it was late In june. The ships were going to take a short break to refuel, and restock the cargo for the next leg of their journey. The crew was happy to get off the cramped ship and onto some stable ground. Looking down the dock captain Wenger couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of some of his men swaying slightly, still having their sea legs.
While he was on the island he was remembering the good times at sea on his small fishing boat, bringing in great hulls from his net. He longed to be back on that ship, and away from this horrible war. But like all thing, his time on his boat was drawn short with the attack on Peral Harbor. After that day he knew he had to enlist and make sure his home would be safe from the Japanese. He awoke to the phone ringing and picked it up,
"Hello," he said grogerly.
"Captain, your taskforce is getting ready to move. your needed at the dock immediately."
"Ok....I'll be right there" he said more alert now.
He hung up the phone and put on his uniform and rushed out the door. He got to the dock and rushed upto his ship and got up to the bridge.
"Private jell, is everyone on board?"
"Yes captain! Everyone is accounted for."
Wonderful! Let's shove off then. full ahead!"
The ship moved out of harbor with the rest of the taskforce and on to Seipan.
"Captain! Enemy ship spotted to our starboard side! Do you want to comince an attack?"
"Yes private! Tell everyone to man their battle stations! Move! move!"
"Eye, eye captain!"
The enemy ship fired on the taskforce nearly missing the cargo ship USS carlo. The battleship USS reader fired a salvo on the enemy ship, with no hits. The enemy shot again and it was coming right for captain Wengers ship.

@WarshipDude technically they didn't fire it was the battleship. He was just getting info on where it was and telling to man stations. When I do publish it ( I have decided to) then stuff will get changed like private jell will become lieutenant jell( if I'm still wrong tell me) and stuff like that will get changed.
@Kernels but im not talking about historically accurate stuff, im talking about common sense of the captain, i will ask them first before opening fire

As well as privates being in the army mostly and not on ships. Jell must have gotten lost I suppose....
Not to mention its Aye Aye and that a private shouldn't be in charge of so many things

Quite good, once again, btw if i were the captain i would first ask for identification and reason to be there at the time, that is if it not open fire immediately
