Do only Step 1 of this tutorial
Extend the fuselage to desired length
Add a hinge rotator
Go in overload (the </> sign) and set min to 0, disableBaseMesh to true (enagble this in JointRotator) and set input to desired input (me, i use Activate1)
Connect the hinge rotator to a fuselage
Disconnect other connections of that fuselage
Test it
Voila!

It's basically just paneling but you put a hinge and manually connect it
