It's been more than 2 years, and after multiple breaks, losing friends who deleted their accounts, I'm only 16 from gold. It's been quite impressive. When I came back from my most recent sabbatical, a week ago, I was at 4,017. I'm now 16 from the gold. I'm very close. I just wanted to thank everybody who ever upvoted or commented. I've made many SP friends, I've dramatically quit and comeback, but after 2 years, I'm 16 away.
