So uhhhhh.............. I don't know where to really put this at, so I guess I'll put it here. The idea is for multiplayer building, which would entail having 2 or more people in the same designer working on the same build at the same time. You would first connect to someone else somehow, and then you would be able to do everything the host would be able to do. Maybe there could even be a chat box or something so people could discuss ideas. I just think it would make collabs and stuff easier.
Now that we have the basics out of the way, lets get into what this mod would need to do:
-If you want to save the build, it would only save for you, and not the other person.
-As soon as you press play, you would be kicked out of the designer server.
-A way to show where other peoples view is at, and where they are looking.
-A way to show who is doing what, like who is forming a fuselage block in the background.
-Whatever else people can come up with
This was just kinda an idea I came up with earlier today. Would be nice to know what you guys think, so please comment any suggestions.
@UltraLight
1. That's not a big deal
2. Some people don't have discord for what should be obvious reasons
3. Assuming the capabilities of as anyone is foolish at best.
@UltraLight just don't let mobile users use it boom problem solved
@FishMiner and the chat box thing is irrelevant because most ppl use discord and it would be so annoying to say "wait to do that while I do this" and trade back and forth waiting for others, teenagers have no attention time and patience. Much easier just to build the two sections and then put them together later,
@FishMiner what I mean by re-do is that I usually use fine tuner and make all the Y values of the little metal tubes of my ultralights precisely what they need to be to look "welded together" for my own satisfaction. So if the Y value changes of the main body while I am putting in the new tube, then I have to go over and get the new Y value and type it in
@UltraLight depends on how you build, a lot of people edit rise and run off the build, or just don't use that system very often. And why would you have to "re-do" anything, once something is on the build it stays there. And did you even read the bit about a chat box?
@rexrexThezion @jamesPLANESii @FishMiner the plane moves around a bunch when editing rise+run of fuselages. So with two people in a designer, it would be a nightmare.
.
Say if I am setting my bar to be the same Y axis as my other bar, and begin typing in the Y value, but then rexzion comes in and edits the rise of his fuselage, and I have to redo the same procedure. Then James comes in and adds his pitot tube subassembly to the wing but I edit the run and he puts it in the cockpit. That's why this cant work. hope this makes some sort if sense
@jamesPLANESii I'm sure many would still use it despite the jank.
@ANDREWGARRISON
@WNP78
@HELLFIREKODER
it could be cool to do is make it like a playable game kinda, you and the other person who is building it shows up as a person and the item they highlight shows up as being highlighted to the other player
@jamesPLANESii when
I think this was actually tried like 5 years ago, but because of ping and stuff it didn't work very well.
bruh thats so cool mind blown
