Why did they do this? Surely there are far better names for a groundbreaking electric SUV than ripping a name from one of the most iconic muscle cars ever made. Why didn't they do something like "Ford Pioneer" or "Ford Conqueror" instead.
Pioneer would've been a far better name for an electric SUV than "mustang"
Also, the Mustang should never go electric. It's a car known for being loud, proud, and American. The corvette, however, can go electric, since it's known for showing what a "cheap American sports car" can do.
@F104Deathtrap yeah, i know man, lol
@PhantomAviator I'm sorry. For a long time, I thought governments and corporations did stuff because they thought it was the right decision, or at least made sense. That was a load of crap I probably picked up from watching too much TV.
@PhantomAviator Lmao
@AsteroidAsteroidTheBook Eh, true. I'm okay with the hummer being a hummer and electric.
Heh, they probably named it the Mustang so generic middle class white moms would buy one so they could own a "Mustang"
@PhantomAviator Naming it the mustang gives it a familiarity that people will like. Kind of like the electric hummer
@F104Deathtrap Man, I hate how right you are
@AsteroidAsteroidTheBook I mean you're not wrong. The mustang isn't known for its practicality and performance, but for it being loud and proud, just saying "LOOK AT ME, I AM AMERICAN!" An electric mustang just feels... wrong.
There's also the aspect of not destroying the planet
Truthfully mustangs suck. The visibility is terrible, I can accelerate faster in my AWD 2003 Honda CR-V, and there's basically no cargo space. It's so ridiculously impractical.
How do you think Horses felt when Ford took their name to begin with?
Henry took their jobs, and then stole their name.
Money. Corporations do things because they think it will make money.
