This is the ship I was talking about. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! Sorry I'm not the best at drawing the designs out, but I hope they help out :)
And thank you for doing this!
Extra specifications:
Main guns (3 3-barreled semi-auto autocannons):
420mm shell diameter
APHE shell type (with gold-silver magnesium tracer)
90 degrees rotation left or right
All mounted on the front in center line on top of deck
Secondary guns (I ; 2 1-barrel railguns)
235mm shell diameter
AP Shell type (no tracer or explosive or shell casing needed)
110 degrees rotation right (or left for the left gun)
Mounted left and right of the main guns next to the center main gun on deck
Secondary guns (II ; 2 2-barreled semi-auto CRAM autocannons)
260mm shell diameter
HEAT Shell type
100 degree rotation right (or left for left gun)
Mounted on the left or right side of ship near the beginning of the runway (mounted mid deck on the side of the ship inside the hull)
Tertiary guns (4 1 barrel semi-auto autocannons)
120mm shell diameter
APFSDS shell type (no tracer, disintegrates so no need)
90 degrees rotation (left or right)
Placed in pairs on the rear of the ship, one on each corner of the runway to defend rear of the ship
Howitzers/Artillery (8 1 barrel atomic cannons)
280mm shell diameter
Either Nuclear warheads (small and the most minimal radioactivity as possible after detonation) or the use of Airburst Incendiary shells. Very long case meant for bombarding targets very far away
Is not a true cannon, so it rotates roughly 35 degrees in any direction to aim in a general area
Placed to the left and right of the superstructure in pairs of 4 in a straight line
Anti Air (I ; 3 Flak cannons)
75mm dual barrel autocannon
HE with shrapnel and a timed fuse, or HEAT with no fuse
Rotates in almost any direction necessary to take down enemy planes
2 are placed behind the Howitzers, and 1 is placed on the superstructure
Anti Air (II ; 10 Laser-Plasma based anti air “cannons”)
No diameter, technically (uses energy to turn air into plasma and then shoots it at a high velocity to destroy enemy planes)
Shell type is none, it uses electricity
Rotates in almost any direction needed
Placed all over the carrier, so no definitive position
Torpedoes (2 heavy launchers)
540mm diameter
HEAT shell type (roughly 2000 pounds of high explosive)
Can not rotate the tubes, the torpedoes are laser/sonar/computer guided
Launchers are placed on the front of the carrier under water, one on each side of the hull facing forwards
MTS (1 launcher)
A large missile can be fired that breaks down into many small missiles meant for taking down helicopters, other missiles, drones, and even other ships if necessary.
General Overview/Description:
This ship is an Aircraft Battleship (has planes and big guns) and is meant to be the capital ship of the Thunder Hawk Navy. It will hold 3 Super Hawks, 6 Baby Hawks, 2 Vertibird Lights, and 2 Vertibird Heavys. There will be a crew of something from 100 to 500.
It is supposed to be somewhere close to 900 feet in length and 100 feet in width (front) or 150 feet in width (rear). Powered by 2 turboelectric engines, and 1 steam/turboelectric main engine (water is brought into ship by an external opening, where the water goes through the cooling tube of the nuclear reactor where the heat is wicked and then the water evaporates and powers the secondary alternator and an engine, a secondary deuterium tube powers the main generator).
The rear of the ship splits into two runways that allow multiple take offs and landings at the same time. In the split, there is the main engine and the opening for the AVB (Amphibious Vehicle Bay). Underneath the ship near the middle, there is an opening for the Moonpool, which can launch two Ospreys (micro submarines meant for reconnaissance or light attack with torpedoes).
And finally, this ship holds a secret ability: a sonar. This sonar is ground/sea/air penetrating and it also creates a hologram in the “dark room.” This allows the captain, or anyone else, to see anything from up to 40 square miles away (the range of the howitzers). With this, the captain and weapon controllers can see where they wish to attack, see underwater submarines before an attack, planes flying, and even just for avoiding another Titanic accident.
The front half of the ship looks like a Battleship, and the rear half looks like a carrier because of the runway and hangar opening.
The only weakness in this ship I see is that it doesn’t have torpedo protection or any way to stop an attack from torpedoes unless an Osprey is used or the torpedoes are launched when they are able to turn in time. Other than that, this could be the first true Aircraft-Battleship.
BTW: Falkennest translates from German to English as “Hawk’s Nest” because this ship is the nest of the Thunder Hawks
IF ANYONE WANTS TO BUILD THIS, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO DO SO. HOWEVER, PLEASE TAG ME AND GIVE CREDIT BECAUSE THIS IS MY DESIGN AND I CLAIM MY RIGHTS TO IT FOR THE THUNDER HAWK INITIATIVE.
thanks :)
@Cyberpilot16 okay, cool!
Yup, thanks, I’m going to finish up the Elizabeth first tho
Thanks! @tsampoy
The pictures are very small, but I specified as much as I could on them. I also don't know how a superstructure is supposed to look, so it looks garbage in my drawing XD. Also, the second drawing is extremely compacted because I was on a time crunch, but I hope it still makes sense
