Tbh the canopy is very weird. Try using more parts to make it look more curvy. Try using a blueprint to see what the canopy actually looks like.
F-5 fuselage is supposed to get thinner and then flare out again, like a Coca-Cola bottle. It's a design feature known as "area rule" and you can see it clearly in this photo.
