So I was bombing the USS Beast carrier group, and after launching 2 Cleavers, I purposely overshot them as to avoid missiles and flak. I was coming back around, and about 6.5 miles west of the group I saw something in the water. I flew down towards it, and it appeared to be a surfaced submarine. I hesitated before firing two torpedoes, and as such it submerged before they could hit them. Is this some kind of enemy sub? If so, can I seek it out and destroy it?
@Boelin I just uploaded the new SS-937 model, so the hunt continues. You are welcome to use any of my planes to look, if you're interested.
@goldbaron14a ok
@Boelin I am working on a plane, the SS-937-B Super Panther which is more efficient for the hunt than it's predecessor (the SS-937-A Panther), and I am in final development stage. When it is complete, I will resume the sub hunt. So in short, no I have not.
Did you guys got a screenshot of it?
It was a sub, and I know the fleet. There was only one, not three craft.
@goldbaron14a did it look like a sub or did it look like a warship?
because there is a fleet of 3 ww2 ships north of krakaboala
Possible sighting. About 20 nautical miles NE of Krakaboala. I wasn't looking for it, so I was flying my fighter at 1100 knots and couldn't get a good look. But it certainly wasn't a plane, it left a wake in the ocean.
@scratch this helps alot
@scratch Sick. Thanks so much for your help and letting us use your prototype, I'll keep you updated on any sightings.
@goldbaron14a you can multiply your speed by using Trim. and you can do traditional plane mode using landing gear :)
Nvm, it works great and is awesome, but how can I speed it up?
@scratch It looks and sounds amazingly useful for this, but is it Android compatible?
you can use this for your searches, @goldbaron14a @Boelin
I will tomorrow. I'm gonna keep a flight log of every flight I make so I can see specifically when and where I spotted it when I do.
@goldbaron14a noice this info is enough i guess. Imma continue my search
@goldbaron14a ok
@Boelin I also remember it was roughly coffin shaped. So let's refer to it as the "coffin sub."
@scratch I don't know if it could be targeted, the USS Beast was already in my brackets from the bombing run.
@Boelin I very specifically remember seeing the Tiny before seeing the sub ( I remember noting that I overshot by too far), then I saw the sub about halfway between the Tiny and Beast. The sub was light grey, lighter than the carriers, with dark markings on the side. It was sitting still when I first saw it, and moving when I saw it next. When it was moving, it made a long wake (the only way I noticed it at 1300 knots) then I flew closer and confirmed it was indeed the sub.
Hmmm.. this is what I think happened alright. Maybe you mislook the uss tiny as the sub(this is nonsense) since you mention that you spawn at wright to attack uss beast and you found it SW of the carrier group.. anyways im still continuing the hunt. Also can you give me other info on how you find it?
@goldbaron14a can you target it? was it air to air or a ground target?
@goldbaron14a ok. Got it! Thx for the info I'mma make a forum post if I confirm this
@Boelin I think it was a coincidence that it happened when I was bombing the Beast. The second time I saw it, I wasn't attacking anything, and it was 8 nautical miles SW of Krakaboala. It seems important to note that both times it was within 10 NM of land. Also (this could also be coincidence), both times it was travelling directly towards or away from the Brown Pearl. The first time, it was facing directly away from the Pearl's location, the second time, it was headed directly for it.
@goldbaron14a I followed what you said in this post like bombing USS beast. And the sub didn't appear. Anyways I gonna try it again
@Boelin what do you mean
