Just wanted to tease you guys a little bit with these amazing wings.
This is the progression over about ten days. Next thing I will do is to add slats and landing gear, as well as small details like no step lines and hopefully some realistic dirt.
Step 1- get blueprint and scale accordingly
Step 2- Lay out the leading edge of the wing with round fuselage blocks.
Step 3- panel the underside of the wing (I made mine flat to be easier)
Step 4- Plot points where control surfaces will begin and end
Step 5- Set up allocations for where wingflex lines will be.
Step 6- Set the slope that the wing will rise at (back to front, mine is 12 degrees)
Step 7- Panel from all your points at 12 degrees, and then insert a fuselage block level with the leading edge to round it off.
Step 8- Add easy control surfaces like ailerons and single-piece flaps.
Step 9- Add harder control surfaces, like double/triple piece flaps and slats.
Step 10- Give those surfaces FT so they behave properly (you'll need to watch them operate on YouTube to find this out)
Step 11- Add spoilers/speedbrakes by cutting out wing sections and just putting in rectangular pieces. Give them FT too.
Step 12- Add details like flap tracks, and give your flaps FT to match their real-world operation and design.
Step 13- cut out a piece at the bottom for landing gear and install your landing gear.
Step 14- Make your landing gear have FT so there is a delay and behaves properly.
Step 15- Paint your wing the proper color.
@nomalnormaltheman Maybe you should try and make it!
@KLM_747 well actually im not requesting anything because i know you have a lot of work to do
@nomalnormaltheman I probably could, but I don't have time for that right now.
but im sure you cant make an exact copy of concorde cockpit
nice work
@KLM_747 awesome!
@Gundamboy Actually, I haven't considered doing anything past the 1960's. I will think about it after I finish the 767 and 747 though.
I’m aware that you are working on a project right now,
Have you ever considered doing a vintage airliner? E.G. a Boeing stratoliner, I think with your level of detail it would be awesome!
@1918 Be my guest, always happy to help out. By the way, the wings work for all variants of the 747 except the -8, as long as you take the winglet off. Those are the PW4000 engines though, so those would need to be changed as well.
Thanks!
This is a very well done wing. I usually build mostly -100 and -200 classic jumbos, but I'd like to use them in the future when I paint -400s for some airlines.
I often paint classic jumbos, but the original aircraft I painted was made in 2017.The quality of the aircraft itself is very old.
So we would like to remake it this year to make it more realistic in appearance and operability.
In that case, I would like to use the nose of the 747 you made.
@KLM_747
@1918 Thank you! The project will most likely be posted around june or july, but may be as early as may. But as usual, I'll post the wings as soon as they're finished, along with the winglet and non-winglet versions for the 200 and 300.
I know your affinity for 747s, so maybe you'll like this wing.
Nice!
@KLM_747
good thing I got new pc /: lol
Perfect
@ACEPILOT109 @asteroidbook345 Updated the desc. for your viewing pleasure.
Aircraft will be 9700 parts and posted as summer 2021 project.
@asteroidbook345
