How do i make a wing that generates downforce instead of lift?

Very simple question, i need to know.

Just tag me on the build if it’s confusing and I’ll help

Not true, maybe it differs if you use fine tuner, but you can definitely flip flat bottom airfoils to get them to lift downward... @Kittyhawk909

@Chancey21 that doesn't work. Simpleplanes automatically corrects the lift vectors and will flip the wing. @FujiwaraAutoShop there is a way to xml mod the wing to be inverted but honestly the best bet is to angle the wing so that air hits it and is deflected upwards, just like on a race car. You should only need 5 or less degrees camber.

Ok, well correct me if I'm wrong, but has SP's physics been considered?

what the comment below this one said but 13 degrees

Make it so the leading edge of the wing is lower than the trailing edge of the wing by about 15 degrees

@FujiwaraAutoShop uhhhh are you angling the front down

@asteroidbook345 If i angle it down it produces MORE lift.

I did it on my AA-1

@FujiwaraAutoShop Change it to a symmetric airfoil and rotate it down

  • Profile image

@Chancey21 @asteroidbook345 it is flipped but still decides to create rear lift.

Or you can angle it down with a symmetric airfoil

    Uh...flip it?

    Here’s what you’re missing:
You have to flip the wing 180 along the Z Axis
This will make the wing inherently downward lifting as opposed to the forced inherent lift in previous solutions. Some angle of incidence can help too

@Kittyhawk909 Negative.. As in the front faces downward or upward?

Angle it so that it has negative camber

@Homemade1 it's already set to flat bottom yet it creats lift.
