For those unaware, a trim tab is a little control surface for aircraft, normally on the control surface of the wing.

Well, you need to make the elevator (or stabilator, whatever you are using) out of separate pieces. You can use wing/panel parts for this, but it's better to use Fuselage blocks. When building the elevator (or whatever you are using), just use multiple pieces instead of one, so basically, 1 large piece for the front of the elevator, then two smaller ones on the back with a space in between them for you to insert the trim tab that is connected to a rotator or hinge rotater.
