@Sm10684 Huh I might just do that. I'll keep looking on Craigslist and Ebay too

@Sm10684 Might as well buy a fully built kart in that case. Can't find many frames without motors.

People usually don’t make a frame from scratch. I suggest buying a frame and putting a motor on. @asteroidbook345

Either way, the engine is the easy part. I can't just assemble a frame out of anything, and I don't have an angle grinder and I'd have to predetermine the measurements if I wanted to get steel bars cut at Home Depot. I also don't have a drill bit rated for drilling steel.

@Sm10684 Vertical shaft engines do pose a problem which would require me to use a weird gearbox in the back with a belt. I could use a weed wacker or leafblower engine or something

@asteroidbook345 If I'm being honest, lawnmower engines don't really make great go kart engines. They're vertical shaft. most, if not all go kart engines are horizontal shaft . Go to harbor freight. a brand new horizontal shaft engine will only set you back $100.

I found a $35 lawn mower on Craigslist and now I really want to make a go kart. Except I don't know how to weld and I'm not rich enough to get someone to do it for me.
