Real life counterparts of weapons

43.7k ShinyGemsBro  3.8 years ago

Just a little question. This'll disappear once I get answers

What are the real life counterparts of the SP weapons? I know that the Inferno and Guardian missiles are based from the AGM-114 Hellfire and AIM-9 Sidewinder respectively, but what are the rest?

Much thanks in advance to those who reply

@ThatKindaWeeb they are similar but the Vulcan has a 20mm to match the simpleplanes minigun or it could just be that I have been wrong this whole time

@SimpleplanesTankbuilder How did you even find this post? This is literally 11 months old and should've been lost at sea

    I think it's this
    Interceptor- AIM-120 AMRAAM
    Inferno- AGM-114 Hellfire
    Guardian- AIM 9 Sidewinder
Cleaver- (maybe) LAM Tomahawk Cruise Missile
    Torpedo- Literally any WW2 Torpedo
    Rocket- (maybe) WW2 Anti-Tank Rocket
    Rocket pod- (not sure exactly)
    Minigun- M134 Minigun
Wing gun- Any gun mounted onto the wings of prop aircraft from WW2

I thought the Interceptor was an AIM-7 Sparrow but I'm not sure

    Here are my guesses :
    Wing gun : 7,62mm M1919 Browning
    Minigun : 7,62mm M134
Rocket Pod : 7 Shot Hydra 70 Rocket Pod
    Rocket : S-24
    Boom 25 : FAB-250-M54 / FAB-250-M62
Boom 50 : Mk 82 General Purpose Bomb
Torpedo : Mk 13 Aerial Torpedo
Interceptor : AiM-120 (unsure since the missile is shorter than the actual AiM-120)
Cleaver : Tomahawk but with MBDA Meteor's inlet design

    Hope this helps
