You all have asked for it, so we've (actually just Andrew, but shh) delivered. The strike system has received a total overhaul. Now you can explicitly see your strikes, and they will automatically be expunged after periods of good behavior.
When you have a strike, you will receive a notification alerting you, and you will see this at the top of your profile:
Old strikes from before this system's introduction are not grandfathered in, so everyone who is not currently banned will have a clean slate.
We will also be trying to move away from permanent bans in the future unless necessary, as people tend to just evade them anyways.
Additionally, there is a new rule in place:
If we find out that you are harassing a moderator on a 3rd party site (such as Discord) for their actions on this site then you will likely face consequences on this site in the form of a strike or a ban.
This is for our own sanity, as it gets quite tiresome being targeted on other sites such as Discord because some users feel it is "safe" to do so.
We hope that this will help create a more friendly community, with fewer people being upset about having strikes they don't know about and using that as reason to continue breaking the rules and crossing into the red area.

@SupremeDorian alr thanks
Not gonna name anyone specifically but I've had it happen
@SupremeDorian 😏
@JakeS Not entirely sure what you mean. Are you asking if moderators aren't allowed to harass other users off-site? If so then in cases like that we would have a discussion with the moderator in question about it.
@JakeS It was really bad when it did. I had to deal with the mods trying to moderate discord and someone actually got a strike for getting mad at someone else. As far as moderators harassing other players, I don't think that's a big issue. You can just not talk to them if you feel like they're harassing you or someone else.
@SupremeDorian aight thanks. Both ways or just towards mods?
@SCP1471 lol
Cool
@Lanc probably not?
@JakeS It only counts for harassment of moderators. If it was for regular users, then someone could just get an out of context message of someone saying "f**k you" to try and get someone they don't like a strike. Originally the rule did apply to everyone, shortly after it was announced in Andrew's post, but some people took note of the fact it applied to everyone and proceeded to weaponise it. There are just too many possible factors we aren't seeing to apply it to normal users.
@NintendosmasterpieceMARIO it feels like chewing 5 gums.
Does the new rule apply to everyone
Please tell me it does
@PapaKernels well you see lad, you're not average then are you?
