You heard that right, a Supercharged V8 with a CVT powering a civilian aircraft. This won't be any regular Supercharged CVT V8 though, this is one straight out of one of our professional racing vehicles. it features a reinforced iron block and head, quad over head cams, and 10,000RPM of screaming glory. of course, this engine would have 630BHP like the one straight out of the car; but we had to downgrade this engine a bit, i mean it is going into a civil plane. the 10,000RPM rev range still stays, but the power drops significantly; down to 475BHP. if a small size civil plane got over 500BHP, it might not be controllable at high speeds.
Speaking of high speeds: i want this thing to max out at 160mph, and have a cruising speed (60% throttle gear up) of 105mph. i'm gonna try and be near that. But i will need someone to build me a body, specifically something like a Cessna. one of the average common Cessna Planes.
i'm thinking of making the CVT kick in at about 6,000RPM, which will make the propellers start spinning much faster.
Since uh, simpleplanes lets you do that.
@TheRealJBerry care to help?
