Nowadays there is a lot of hubbub 'round the interwebz about the new SP update. Take it from me, I've been around since 1.0 and have both sat in anticipation and beta tested myself. First I will debunk some common rumors:
1.Weapons, weapons are not confirmed or denied. Some of you may know my position, but for the others link is here
2.New parts on mobile. This one is more my opinion but, the new part's on mobile is an important thing to cover. the fact of the matter is , when Andrew said "We are still not exactly sure what features will be included in the mobile version" there, nothing about parts, as part's are not that CPU intensive. A list of unconfirmed things that is CPU intesive is : Better physics, Desttructable terrain, More terrain (a little bit) as well as more explosions. Notice that none of those are parts.

The Beta Test Update
the original
A explination on how the new parts work:
If the parts were already in the game, that would work but unlike XML modded parts (using existing textures, models and scripts) these would be physically different 3D models and unity scripts in the game's code. Now, the developers have been known to put unfinished objects in to the game's code. Some examples of this is VTOL gyro, when poking around in the XML files in 1.1 beta (three betas ago) I found a unfinished VTOL gyro block. Also, in the early alpha someone found the unfinished VTOL engine and nozzle. However, due to the complexity of the latest update I think that that would be unlikely. How I wish that it would work.
PS. I am not in the beta and I am not associated with the devs.
