So I decided to play around with making an interceptor style aircraft (thing MiG-31), and unloaded (only wing fuel) I have a T/W of 9.901. However even in a shallow dive (-15 AoA) i seem to peak out at 1084 or so.
I've designed craft before (modifying my SR-71 engines I hit over 2000 level) but I'm trying to do this without modifying engine power. Obviously I know with fuel and missiles the T/W will probably drop as low as 5 or 6, but it makes no sense with an over 9 T/W on a low drag design i can't achieve more then the speed I have.
Does anyone have a clue why the plane isn't matching up?
