Today, on the 25th of April 106 years ago, Anzac soldiers landed on the shores of Gallipoli
This is now known as Anzac Day, and is a day of remembrance of Australian and New Zealand sacrifice in times of war.
My great Grandfathers were in the war, one was a Bofors gun operator, he came home, nearly deaf, and my other great grandfather was a soldier, he came home with a bullet in his shoulder, and couldn’t have it surgically removed until 20 years later, by that time his shoulder injury had become a part of him, and he couldn’t move his arm properly.
Now it is 106 years since the landing at Gallipoli and people across the world, gather to remember the honour and sacrifice the young men and women gave for their countries.
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning,
We will remember them.
Lest we forget.

Yea @EliCandyYT69
@EliCandyYT69 Ta mate
Enjoy your day
I personally think that Anzac Day is for Australia and New Zealand to morn the losses of their soldiers in wars, but Remembrance Day is for all to morn. I still think that Anzac Day should be celebrated more, my great grandfather who operated Bofors was awarded medals and we keep them at my grandparents house. My Pa keeps them some place that I don’t know about but he has shown me them a few times. @EliCandyYT69
Anzac Day.....
@hRmm This is a day to remember and reflect on the past, not boast about your victories kiddo
Anzacs literally came from anywhere to fight, and generally got a couple of weeks to train, not months.
Don't make comments like that, it's downright disrespectful
@Simpleuser04 Agreed
Ottomans managed to beat anzacs with worse equipment.
@Kangy i hate living in victoria, no monday off :/
"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn;
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning,
We will remember them."
