Something intriguing that came to my mind

So you know how in the movie “War Of The Worlds”, the alien tripods are scattered around the entire world, right? Eventually, the extraterrestrials piloting these crafts fall to the bacteria in our atmosphere, as Morgan Freeman narrates. So now, this is where the movie ends, as the alien race has failed to take over.

But what if this wasn’t the end?

Knowing that the wrecks of these tripods are scattered around the world, some in near perfect condition, others mangled beyond recognition, humans are most certainly going to investigate them. It’s entirely possible that, in a future theoretical scenario for the movie, humans will have reverse engineered the alien technology, and possibly even attempt to restore some of the tripods in better condition, and if feasible, use them for their own forces.

In the ultimate ironic twist, the aliens in their tripods that were supposed to exterminate the human race, ended up lacing the entire planet with advanced technology of unfathomable proportions, like the Heat Rays, seemingly indestructible Force Fields, unparalleled mechanical leg designs, and a whole lot more. I can only imagine this going one of two ways; either A, people use the technology to better understand how it works, reverse engineer it, and apply it where possible, to better society and supply the world with never before seen possibilities, or B, the technology is used for not just the latter, but for war as well, and absolute unfathomable chaos breaks out. Humans piloting alien tripods against other humans in the same tripods, at war. It’s never confirmed whether or not the Heat Rays can penetrate the Force Fields of the tripods in the movie, but if they can, then I imagine that in an even more ironic twist, the human race would end itself rather quickly, and more effectively than the aliens ever could’ve.

Yeah I may or may not have rewatched WotW for the 137th time just recently, it’s an all time favorite movie of mine and every time I watch it, I happen to notice something new.
