This is basically a second part to the other forum where I asked what has SP the game teach you.
But I wonder if this community is as helpful too. The community is huge, with tons of users pumping out planes like production lines. There’s also discord servers where even banned users can chat with others. I wonder if all these people are any help to anyone.
In my opinion I think it does, for example in SPCS people can ask for help with things to help others engineer and fine tune their craft (usually people just say “Check the CoM and the CoL”)
What do you guys think?
No matter what the website, achievement points (whether they be the common likes, or the upvotes here) can be a dangerously addictive thing. It's best to limit one's desire for them to ensure an underperforming build doesn't do more than disappoint.
If you build the same thing for too long without so many improvement, your successes will stagnate. So at some point, even if you're well known for one thing, branch out! Even if not immediate in earning points, it'll be worthwhile in more ways than one!
Being a bad builder is not being low in skill with building, that's a hurdle that can be overcome with Patience and Persistence. Being a bad builder is giving up and internalizing the 'I suck at building' mentality to the point of not trying anymore.
Giving too much assistance to newbie builders can lead to them becoming overly dependent on such assistance. In general, avoid doing anything substantial for them!
Don't use a screenshot of your build at night for the upload, it'll very likely murder its potential for being noticed.
Beware of SP discord servers, they might be good but they might also prove a bit too 'rowdy' for your liking, or they might implode on themselves and have every channel but one deleted. If you've found one or two good servers, you should probably stick with them.

Probably mostly how to teach. Trying to teach concepts to a wide variety of people is something I haven't had the opportunity to really get otherwise, and it's also forced me to learn some new skills to supplement that.
