So, from what i found in the simpleplanes reddit front page and some searches, you need unity and possibly visual studio to make a mod level. However, while the software seems easy to obtain, im not sure what kind of coding experience is needed to make a mod as theres not really a comprehensive guide to mod level making that i could find, nor am i experienced with unity.
So, what id like to know is:
-How much coding/ programming/ scripting experience will i need, and in what coding language (c#, javascript, python)
-Are there online resources i can access (links especially appreciated)
-How long would it take for someone with not a lot of coding skill to learn how to make a mod level and make a combat challenge with surface and air targets.
Id really like to make some challenge levels someday, especially air combat challenges since they seem to be particularly rare. But from the lack of them along with any guides id imagine its rather challenging or time consuming, so id like to know if ill be able to do it or if its worth a shot.
@Grroro okay, thanks for the info. Guess it cant hurt to learn c# and unity, since its pretty popular and useful for other stuff.
@Pajamas720 that said, creating a fully functional challenge mod is going to take you atleast half a month.
@Pajamas720 well, I have tiny experience in c# (unity's coding language) but I can safely tell you that it won't be too hard, ofc, you still will have to get the basics your self.
But once you know what a certain sentence does, its ez.
For reference, the language i know best is... funky trees lol, and needless to say im not the best at that either.
