You know one upvote gets you 15 points that's something we all went with in simpleplanes but it was somehow unfair
I see a ton of people with bronze and even white with gold level builds and they get no points whatsoever
And the same thing.. Plat players with "meh" builds
I think the upvote and points system should be by rating.. You click upvote and like select the rating maybe by stars so 1 star upvote gets you maybe 3 points .. 4 stars gives you something something points.....
And it runs like that
And before clicking on a plane it's thumbnail attracted you a "5 star" thingy located near the title or something would give you the rating people gave it
Just like in steam for example
I know this will never happen because if you wanna do that you need to remove all people's points that was gained by the "unfair" method
I also think they should do something like.. You know the rank system in some games where it resets every like three months but also the old ranks could be displayed by the player choice

It started off as that but it caused a lot of hate and stuff on the site so they changed it to upvotes.
I have started to release plat level builds (ignore my ego and the rest of the non plat builds) but i'm stuck at silver. But i'm progressing.

A rating system would suck, and I’d argue you’d still have the exact same problem. The current system we have is fine. And no we do not need a rank reset, SP is not some competitive type game, that idea is a bit silly if you ask me.
I upvote only when I think the build is of quality and effort, aka, I don't care what rank/level you are, if you're build is good than an updoot you recieve

Platinum users have brand recognition, and trust in quality. We were all bronze silver and gold too.
Teasers are also a reason certain builds get more upvotes
I can honestly follow what you have suggested. It might even fix the silver user’s blackhole that some of us are stuck in. There are silver builders with gold level builds - and they might get a couple of updoots. It’s insane. Now my builds are kinda crappy, but something like this would certainly propel me forward faster than the current system has.
